You helped our class save about $3,000 in poi making costs so we are ever grateful for your support. We look forward to putting them to good use during kapahaka, watch this space for updates on new poi waiata coming soon.
This week we had Whaea Kim join the teina to learn about the pūrakau Matariki.
Whaea Kim tells the pūrakau while involving all of our senses. Tamariki get to hear the sounds of our Atua, smell Pohutukawa, taste things that grow under the protection of Haumiatikitiki and Rongomatane. All while they watch the story unfold in fornt of them as Whaea Kim uses props to support the story.
We had so much fun!
