This week our ākonga got creative to re-purpose plastic bottles to make their own piggy banks. There are many ways to reuse our plastic waste and is a great way to put the 3R’s into action while having lots of fun.

Hi Ata Hāpara,
It is Kākano from St Francis of Assisi here.
We really loved your artwork. We thought your pigs looked amazingly cool. Some of us in the class have our own piggy banks at home. Pandora has many piggy banks and we think she must be really rich. How did you make them? We would like to know the instructions so we could try at home or in our own class.
Thanks for sharing your learning with us.

Kia ora Sharon! Thank you for your complements. I’m so glad to hear that you liked the piggy banks, I have asked my class to create some how to videos to show you. In the mean time, I will share the video that I got the idea from with you. It is on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkHEJEzMKwc
